The Art/s of Worship with Marcia McFee

May 27-29, 20254

Brechin united church, nanaimo, bc

Hybrid (online and in person)

“At such a time as this, we cannot afford to stay on the surface…. Getting in touch with ourselves and what makes us light up, getting in touch with others and creating more community and compassion in the world, getting in touch with the holy ‘other’ – whether you call that Love, Universe, God/dess or whatever (the thing that feels bigger than all of us) – is the way humans have been pulling themselves out of the mire ever since we became humans. Exploring, learning and growing is our life's work. So let’s get to it.” - Marcia McFee

Planning week-to-week worship is exhausting. And when worship quality takes a nose-dive, the energy and inspiration you and the congregation need to live fully into your mission diminishes as well. Get ideas and training that will enliven your task of worship design and leadership. Come experience, explore and learn how to offer worship that is meaningful (finds life at the intersection of our life and faith story) and memorable (living beyond the time and place of worship)!

Conference Leadership

marcia mcfee

Dr. Marcia McFee understands the role of any worship artist in the church as that of creating extraordinary portals through which communities journey with the Spirit. The task is at once deeply theological and wonderfully artistic. Connecting worship professionals and volunteers to their passion and depth of spiritual leadership and skills to carry this out has been her aim in teaching and consulting for 25 years. She is the Creator and Visionary of the Worship Design Studio, an online educational and resource website that serves churches in several countries and denominations. She is the author of the best-selling “Think Like a Filmmaker: Sensory-Rich Worship Design for Unforgettable Messages.” She is the Ford Fellow Visiting Professor of Worship at San Francisco Theological Seminary, as well as teaching online courses for several other seminaries.
