Christ of the Celts: The Healing of Creation Book Study
In this book, J Philip Newell offers us a reflection of the "forgotten" Jesus, the Christ of the ancient Celtic tradition. Newell connects the Celtic tradition with our more conventional Christian beliefs, giving a vision of concern for healing creation and the environment - for the presence of the sacred in nature and in our more than human family.
As an ever-unfolding mystery of life rather than a one-time event, Newell's Celtic Christ is interwoven with the Creation - they share the same center, the same Heartbeat. Newell explores the idea that salvation as a sense of our oneness with the universe - a salvation that comes from the well-being of the whole rather than the welfare of the individual.

Rev LeAnn Blackert
Rev LeAnn Blackert's adventure in the United Church has led her to plant Wild Church communities in Kamloops and Kelowna. Wild Church is a sacred nature-based experience to awaken deep love for self, earth and all living beings for the survival and healing of the plant. It is an expression of church where Mystery is experienced, not explained. and where community gathers to connect with the Divine in ways that bring personal wholeness and societal transformation. LeAnn lives in Kamloops with her two cats. She loves hiking the trails of the Okanagan, working with Michele Walker and Lesly Comrie to create Wild Church gatherings, and her partner, Ivy Thomas.
