INFO SESSION
The recording of our Feb 9th information session with Doris and Julio speaking about this tour is posted to LeaderSHIFT’s YouTube Channel: Guatemala: a tour for ministry personnel ~ Information Session with World Pilgrim Guides (recording)
Why this trip, at this time?
In our Executive Minister Treena Duncan’s Holy Week message, she wrote, “Despite facing generations of trauma and scarcity, the people of Guatemala demonstrate unwavering faith and hope, pouring out their love and devotion into the world. Witnessing their dedication reminds me of the inseparable connection between faith and hope: when we nurture faith, we nurture hope; when we nurture hope, we nurture faith. There is resurrection going on.”
Our intention is that this pilgrimage of ministry leaders, will indeed nurture our faith and our hope – and that we will see, and be, signs of resurrection.

Community, Culture, Reflection
You will meet inspiring people and visit projects working to better Guatemalan Society. You will be guided by and meet Guatemalans listening to their stories and struggles.
You’ll spend time learning about the history of the 36 year civil war and genocide, and its effects on Guatemala today. You will share a day of joy with the children at the school in Chwitiziribal, a small Mayan village.
You will visit Chichicastenango and its world famous market, a volcanic hot-spring to relax, a fair trade coffee project, weavers and artisans, Lake Atitlan, and historic Antigua.
Guatemala is a country with much to teach about the richness of culture, about the struggle and challenge of a developing country, and in the stories and faces of its people. You will discover the Highlands of Guatemala where you will learn about Mayan culture, traditions, music and spirituality.
You will build community while travelling with a group of fellow ministry leader pilgrims sharing community gatherings and times to reflect on your own ministry in the context of this pilgrimage.
