Planning week-to-week worship is exhausting. And when worship quality takes a nose-dive, the energy and inspiration you and the congregation need to live fully into your mission diminishes as well. Get ideas and training that will enliven your task of worship design and leadership. Come experience, explore and learn how to offer worship that is meaningful (finds life at the intersection of our life and faith story) and memorable (living beyond the time and place of worship)!
Dr. Marcia McFee is a professor, worship designer, author, preacher and ritual artist. Her first career was in professional theater, music, and dance in major companies that toured the world. She brings all of that, combined with a Master’s in Theology and a PhD in Worship and Ethics to her ministry of designing, leading, and teaching about meaningful and memorable worship for the last 30 years.

Decolonization is a Community Act—Whether that work is in oneself or tied to broader institutional change, it must unfold in a circle alongside Indigenous voices, guiding hands, and the community.
This is a land-based 4-day camp that will be held at Camp Fircom on beautiful Gambier Island in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh territory. Participants will engage in a land-based immersive experience led by Sḵwx̱wú7mesh knowledge-holders and land-based practitioners.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn how these resources can help your community of faith affirm and articulate the lived faith of those in your community, deepen an appreciation of theological difference, and build capacity for theological interpretation of community life. Better understand yourselves and one another, and address the deeper question: “What are we called to do?”
About the Venue
Oakridge United Church is located the southern Oakridge Neighbourhood of Vancouver BC (click for map). Accessible drop off is via the alley way behind the building, and limited underground parking is via the same alley way. Buzz to enter. The church building is a three minute walk from the Canada Line at the Oakridge-41st Avenue Station. Bus routes stopping within 0.1 to 0.2 km from the venue are: 041 Joyce Station/Crown, R4 41st Ave, N15 Downtown/Cambie NightBus, and 015 Cambie/Olympic Village Station. Bike parking is available.
